Easter is here which means you and your kids have some much deserved time off to spend together, with lots of bunnies, chicks and chocolatey treats, we’re sure!

If you’ve left it too late to head abroad this Easter, or want to have huge amounts of fun without spending large amounts of money – don’t panic! There is still plenty to do in the UK this Easter and we’ve rounded up the best events from all around the country. 

Where is Peter Rabbit? Treasure Trail, The World Of Beatrix Potter, Lake District, 12 April

What is it? Easter wouldn’t be complete without an Easter egg hunt! There are hundreds of local hunts planned across the UK, but our pick is this fabulous Peter Rabbit treasure trail, located in the beautiful Lake District. Families use their smart phones to guide them across the stunning north-eastern landscape and straight towards the 100 collectable ceramic eggs. Other special prizes to be won include overnight stays in many wonderful hotels for you and your family!

Where to stay? The World of Beatrix Potter recommends the Matson Ground Holiday Cottages and The Bowering luxury self-catering apartments on its website. However, the Lake District is the perfect place to camp! This area is packed with many sites to explore, choose your favourite online.

Transport Unless you live in the area, this treasure trial may be a little far away for a day trip. However, if you do decide to come just for the hunt then it’s best to come by car due to its beautiful but rural location.

Moomin Adventures Easter Trail, Kew Gardens, Surrey

What is it? Fun for all the family, with the help of the friendly Moomins! Hemulen, a plant loving Moomin has woken up from hibernation to learn that his favourite plants have been stolen! This trail enables you to explore the famous Gardens, discovering new species and learning about botanicals as you help to rescue the stolen plants.

Where to stay? Kew Gardens is located in Richmond, Surrey, which is on the outskirts of London. It is accessible by tube, train and bus from the centre however, for a slightly cheaper and less busy trip, why not stay in Surrey itself?
