Top 3 Theme Parks to Visit This Easter

Posted on March 14 2018

Wondering how to keep the kids occupied over the Easter holidays? Never fear, as there are countless theme parks around the country that are perfect for the whole family.

Read on for more information on the top three theme parks to visit this Easter.

 Alton Towers

Alton Towers is one of the UK’s most popular theme parks and it’s not hard to see why. Perfect for both kids and adults, it has a whole host of thrilling rollercoasters, a range of rides for children along with a ‘Cbeebies Land’ devoted to little ones. Popular rides for children include The Runaway Mine Train and Cuckoo Cars Driving School, whilst for adults Nemesis, Oblivion and The Smiler are big hits.

Tickets cost from £33 per adult and under 3s go free. Parking costs £6 all day, or if you’re staying in one of the Alton Towers hotels, it’s free to use the accommodation car park.

Alton Towers is located in Staffordshire, and the nearest train stations are Stoke-on-Trent, Uttoxeter and Derby, although an additional bus service will be required to get directly to the park itself.

Thorpe Park

Thorpe Park is an award-winning theme park based in Surrey, and is perfect for both adrenaline junkies and families alike. Famed for exhilarating rides such as Nemesis Inferno, Stealth and The Swarm, it also has a plethora of rides for younger children, such as Rumba Rapids, Rocky Express and Lumber Jump.

Tickets cost from £30 per adult for a one-day pass, although annual passes are available. Under 3s go free. Parking costs £7 per day.

Staines is the recommended train station for those wishing to travel to Thorpe Park, although from the train station you will then need to board the 950 Express Bus service which runs every 15-20 minutes and will take you directly to the park.

Chessington World of Adventures

Chessington World of Adventures is located in Chessington, just outside of London. It features over 40 rides and 1,000 animals in the zoo and sea life centre, making it a great option for kids who love animals. There are 10 themed lands with a variety of rides suitable for young and old, including thrilling rides like Rameses Revenge and Rattlesnake, or child-friendly rides such as Tiny Truckers and Flying Jumbos.

Tickets cost from £29 to visit the theme park and from £11 for the zoo, however under 3s go free. Parking costs £3 per day.

The park is approximately 10 minutes walk from Chessington South Station, and there are also regular bus services available.
