Exotic holiday destinations that won’t break the bank

Travelling the world to far-flung destinations can seem scarily expensive but by picking the right spots, it can be done at penny-pinching prices. New research has revealed that couples can now jet off to holiday paradises including Thailand, Mumbai and Abu Dhabi for under £1,000.

Exotic Holiday Destinations That Wont break the bank

The money saving gurus at VoucherBox.co.uk have picked out long-haul destinations that can be ticked off the bucket list at a bargain price. For no more than £1,000, a couple flying from London Heathrow in the middle of June for one week can holiday in Malaysia, Delhi, South Africa, Thailand and Indonesia.

Further cheap destinations include Jordan, Hong Kong, Mumbai, Dubai and Abu Dhabi. Jetsetters can now travel and see the world without years of saving just by picking the right long-haul destinations. Researchers looked at the costs of a one-week holiday from Saturday, June 18, to Saturday, June 25 – with return flights from London Heathrow and a double hotel room at a four-star hotel included.

The best money-saving resort this year is Dubai, with research showing that a couple could holiday for one week in the hotspot, including flights and hotel for two, for only £718. That means it would cost £291 each for a return economy flight, and £136 for a week’s hotel stay.

Fellow United Arab Emirates destination Abu Dhabi is also a cheaper option, costing a total of £811 for a holiday in the sun – with flights priced at £303 each and a hotel room costing £205. If the kids are fans of swimming and adventure, Abu Dhabi

Travelling even further afield, a week’s holiday to the capital of Thailand, Bangkok, can be done on a budget too with a low costing of £834 found. This includes return flights for two from London Heathrow at £720 and a double hotel room in the midst of the buzzing city for only£114.

If you’re looking to spice up your summer season this year, jet off to Delhi, in India, for £865 for two people – with flights for £644 for two people travelling and a double hotel room at £221. In comparison, staying within India but choosing a holiday to the west-coast city of Mumbai can still be done on the cheap, but coming in at just under £1,000 – in total, £944.

It seems that a number of South-East Asia favourites can also be holidayed on without worrying about money. A trip to the bustling city of Jakarta, the capital of Indonesia, will set you back only £914 – with flights available for £394 per person and a four-star hotel costing £153.

This is as well as the historic but modern city of Kuala Lumpur, the capital of Malaysia, and Hong Kong, in China. A visit to Kuala Lumpur will cost from £959 for two, whereas a week’s vacation in Hong Kong will put you back £970.

And if you’d prefer a spot of safari during the week, why not look to South Africa for some holiday inspiration. Johannesburg, the capital of the country, is within driving distance of the Pilanesberg National Park – and a week’s holiday within the city can cost only £869. In detail, this includes flights for £351 and a week’s double hotel room for only £167.

There’s even something for the most adventurous of people – how about a visit to Jordan, otherwise known as the “jewel of the Middle East”. A flight and week’s stay in Amman, the capital city, can cost only £937 for two people and gives you the perfect chance to see Petra, the famous city of carved tombs and one of the seven wonders of the world.

Shane Foster from VoucherBox.co.uk said: “The summer season is here and now is the perfect time to start booking your holiday, but this year, why not look a bit further afield and discover your adventurous side.

“Nowadays, more people are wanting to travel that bit further and see the world and by finding the right deals and places, it doesn’t have to be too expensive.

“There is a feeling that you have to spend months of saving to visit long-haul destinations but that isn’t the case.

“We hope that our customers take inspiration from our useful research and get the chance to go on a trip of a lifetime.”
